Young Entrepreneurs Fair

Young Entrepreneurs Fair

The Foundation is aware of how important entrepreneurship is to the economic fabric of Wake Forest, and is dedicated to promoting a strong, vital, creative, and passionate entrepreneurial spirit throughout the community.

Under the entrepreneurship banner, the Foundation has held Young Entrepreneurs Fairs since 2017. Attracting approximately 30,000 visitors, “Meet in the Street” is the ideal venue for budding entrepreneurs aged 9-14 to practice their entrepreneurial acumen and get first-hand experience about what is involved in operating a profitable enterprise, from manufacturing and inventory control to branding, marketing and sales.

More than 30 young vendors participate for a nominal fee.  Two training classes before the fair are offered to help students be successful. The workshops focus on important business topics such as business planning and pricing, marketing and sales. Many of the participants use this knowledge and plan to participate in future years.

Applications are now available for 2024 Young Entrepreneur Fair.
